Martial arts?

I wanted to take martial arts really badly. But my parents won%26#039;t let me. Is there any other way I can learn martial arts without going to a class? And I mean Martial arts that can make me a really strong guy. Not just for relaxation.|||Have you considered telling your parents about the following benefits of martial arts:

Martial art training can improve many areas of a person%26#039;s life. They can become fitter, stronger, more confident and less stressed. What you learn from martial arts you can apply to many situations, not just self defence and fighting.

It can help you deal with school and work place bullying and help with interviews.

It is important that the traditional values of most martial arts, such as respect, discipline, self-confidence and modesty should be taught to children. Obviously there are numerous physical benefits to be gained from the right kind of training. This requires good levels of aerobic fitness, flexibility and a healthy approach to diet. Most students will find that with this kind of training their overall ability in other fields be it football, basketball or hockey will improve. Martial art training develops fast twitch muscle fibres; good hand/foot to eye co-ordination, and the flexibility train can help prevent muscle tears and injuries common to other sports.

Young children who enjoy regular training will also develop important social skills. Martial art training involves individual and team performance, so the athlete is likely to feel alienated among their peers. They will learn to have a competitive spirit, whilst maintaining respect for fellow athletes.

Through practising a martial art we can improve three keys areas in young people锟絪 lives; Self Esteem, Self Confidence and Self Perception or Identity.|||Well, like everyone else has said, it%26#039;s hard to learn martial arts without a teacher, but you can try to get some videos on martial arts and go along with it. You can also get some books that teach martial arts too. There are plenty of those out there. Have you tried to reason with your parents about how useful it could be and how good it is for your everyday life? To become stronger, do strength training exercises such as squats, pushups, situps, etc.

Hope this works out for you!|||If you want to get strong then lift weights. Martial arts is bit hard than that. If martial arts were easy they%26#039;d be called exercise. You can%26#039;t learn a martial art and expect to not have to go to a class. Sure you can watch videos, but who%26#039;s going to correct your technique? Who%26#039;s going to make sure you%26#039;re doing it right? Work out for a few years and then take a martial art.|||Progressive videos, DVD%26#039;s, and books are your best bet. You wont recieve the same hands on disciplinary approach a master can give you but, martial arts can be self taught. Its not a game though or some nifty way to beat someones a$$. It is a serious art with a serious purpose don%26#039;t abuse it. Start with Karate it is very physically challenging. Most are but, Karate is good to begin with.|||Push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, squats, etc. can help you build muscles.

Learning moves and techniques off the internet isn%26#039;t too helpful because there is nobody to correct any mistakes.

I would suggest buying a heavy bag and gloves and learn some simple boxing from a knowledgeable friend maybe?

Good luck and stay safe.|||to get strong work out...if you wanna learn technique talk to people in your area maybe you can work something out with one of them to %26quot;Play%26quot; in your back yard....just make sure its ok with your parents that you play....|||if you want to get strong than just lift wieght/do push-ups or something. You could also buy some kind of punching bag and some gloves and just punch a lot.
