What is the most effective martial arts?

I am a Martial Artist and i like to know your opinion on the most effective Martial Arts. I don%26#039;t want to know what is the most stylist, but the most dangerous to use in combat. Oh and what is your style? Mine is Vovinam|||what ever you can adapt to and use effectively for me personally its Japanese jiu-jitsu but yearn after all these years to join Aikido.

Best wishes :)***|||Indeed there are some similarities between Krav Maga and other martial arts. However, Krav Maga was developed in an environment where the Israeli military could not devote many hours to prolonged hand to hand combat training for their personnel. Therefore, the Krav Maga system was created with great importance placed on bringing students to a high level of skill in a relatively short period of time. There are no katas (forms) or rules in the system. Anything goes when you are fighting for your life!

Krav Maga is much more a survival system dealing with personal safety issues in the context of defending against both armed and unarmed attackers. It is considered to be a modern, highly refined, street fighting system, designed to be utilized against muggings, street attacks, and sexual assaults.

Krav Maga has received international recognition for its highly unique approach in bringing self defense to civilian and law enforcement alike. According to law enforcement trainers, among the most striking characteristics of the system are:

Students are instructed in state-of-the-art defensive principles that apply to a variety of threatening attacks that occur during commonly documented street crimes.

Students train from a position of disadvantage in real time and real speed.

Defensive maneuvers are combined with simultaneous counterattacks until all

potential danger is eliminated.

Unique training methods are employed to simulate violent street encounters. This

is necessary to place students under extreme stress while performing Krav Maga

techniques. Students learn to go from a passive to an aggressive state quickly.|||There is no such thing as a style that is more effective than another. It is how YOU fight, and how much you let that style%26#039;s quirks get into your own personal style. It%26#039;s the fighter that makes a martial art effective, not the other way around. Do your research like the people who have graciously taken their time to answer these questions and learn how to fight effectively. Theories and teachings behind military style close quarters combat is the best way to get started on that path if your not knowledgable enough to understand the mechanics of effective self defense already.

I suggest to browse your local library for books and take a look at self defense videos on the net. I%26#039;m not saying you can%26#039;t fight (which you probably can), I%26#039;m just suggesting (friendly) that you should compare different self defense methods for the same scenarios.|||Effectiveness generally lies more in the training methods and correct mental attitude of the practitioner. Hard-contact sparring is more productive than punching and kicking the air, for example. But the raw techniques of martial arts cross over from style to style. Just about every striking system has the straight punch or the front kick, and just about every grappling style includes the hip throw and figure-four (key) lock.|||BJJ with some dutch kick boxing or some form of wrestling with standing strikes (boxing, kick boxing, etc.) Krav Maga is also pretty good. Im not basing this entirely on UFC or MMA but you can argue with the fact that EVERY succesfull MMA fighter has some form of ground and strikes.|||It depends if you want to fight/defend using grappling, strikes, or kicks.

i pesonaly think that tae kwon do is the best because you learn fancy kicks. we also do other strikes (punches, use elbows, open-hand, etc.). there is also sparring, grappling, and forms.

its really up to you though.|||Krav maga is a very effective martial art. It isn%26#039;t beautiful to watch, and doesn%26#039;t have any fancy kicks, but it gets the job done.|||Why not search the questions for answers. This question is asked every day at least once.|||Pugpaws pretty much said it.|||Muy Tai

or kung-fu...

muy tai- kung fu just looks the coolest
