Best way to start martial arts?

I%26#039;ve decided that I%26#039;m wanting to learn martial arts but I don%26#039;t really know how to start. I can%26#039;t afford going to classes every week and I don%26#039;t have that kind of time either. Is there any good way to be able to train at home for a little while in my spare time? I%26#039;ve heard that tai chi is a great place to start at for beginners.|||As such I think martial arts are not really a good thing to do with out regular instruction. yes there are many videos out there but many minor mistakes will go unnoticed. Compare it to learning boxing a home. Yes it is possible but once you have learned and go out to spar you will find many holes in your posture, stance and defense.

Now the choice you have made is a good one. Tai chi can be done on your own a lot but try to find a combination of classes and working out at home. Talk to the instructor about the challenges you face and I think between the two of you a good solution can be found.|||there is no martial art that is a starter martial arts if u go 2 a real gym they will teach u how 2 do any martial art. mma is the best i think i have done tae kwon doe and kung fu but in cage fighting u can%26#039;t use them believe me i tried.|||i went Kick boxing for just over two years. now some people would just come every couple of weeks, as and when they had time, money etc. i no longer go but use exercise dvds as close to kick boxing as i could find. i know i am doing it correctly as had previously learnt it in a class but i can now continue as and when i want to - without paying out cash every week. its good. i would reccommend you go to a class for a few weeks first - even chat with the trainer and explain your reason for being there. im sure they wont mind.|||Sure, its also a great excercise.|||NO!!!!!!!!!!!! Tai chi is a very advanced style of martial arts that requires great patience and understanding of the human body. Most advanced martial artist aren%26#039;t even prepared for undertaking the knowledge of a true tai chi master. If you wish to learn tai chi in order to join some group in the park then by all means take it up, but if you%26#039;re truly interested in the development of your knowledge of self defense and %26quot;chi%26quot; (as it were), then start with a simpler form of kung fu, like wing chun, chi lin, or hung gar.|||Any kind of martial art should be learned at a school. If you are looking for a good work out that combines the principals of all kinds of martial arts you should try turbo jam.|||Try Taekwondo. It has much more simplicity than most other martial arts. However, it will contain lots of excersise and sweat. It is a good way to get in fit shape.
