Is there any martial arts based on speed?

I am not particularly strong, so I want to learn something that has to do with speed. I don%26#039;t like any of the %26quot;pinning%26quot; type, I don%26#039;t know exactly what they%26#039;re called. Just wondering if there%26#039;s any close up martial arts based around speed.|||Speed is very important to defeat and dodge an opponent ...

I think Wing Chun style is mainly based on speed which is used in %26quot;warriors two%26quot; 1978 movie ...

But speed is attained only through practice practice %26amp; practice ...

I Even heard that Bruce lee is a student of win-chun style

enjoy ..............|||Almost all of them if not all of them.

Most if not all Martial arts is more about technique than %26quot;power%26quot;.

If you are looking for something to defend against larger/stronger opponents though then %26quot;pinning%26quot; as you call it is your best bet. You simply won%26#039;t outstrike a guy 2-3x times your size/strength but you can EASILY use your speed to submit them.

For example, someone 3x your size takes a swing at you, you spin out of the way, trip him and put his arm into submission.

Really you%26#039;ll have to be more specific in what you are looking for because all combat displines can utilize speed. If you are simply looking for something to defend against larger/stronger people then jiu jitsu is the way to go. But there is a lot of %26quot;holding%26quot; in jiu jitsu.|||taekwondo, pretty much any style of kung fu.... wing chun is a good one, you should definitely look into that!

and in general, all martial arts strive to develop speed.|||Speed is a requirement in all arts even the %26quot;pinning%26quot; ones. You would be best to learn a striking art and develope some %26quot;hit and run %26quot;technique .If you stick around speed alone won%26#039;t do it for you.|||We are taught not to sacrifice technique for speed.|||try wing chun kung fu|||I agree with all the selections made here on this question. But one that I can%26#039;t let go unnoticed is the art of Savate. This martial art has crazy fast movements for crazy deadly effects. Research it.|||Muay Thai or kickboxing.

Speed is key and definitely gives you an edge over your opponent.|||Krav Maga all the way. It%26#039;s designed for fast military encounters where you kill or escape, not spend time grappling or trading strikes like you would see in sport fighting.|||Ya need both LOL!- Btw, Jeet Kun Do is the best martial arts based on speed most... Haha...- XD|||try kung-fu or wushu, one of it essence is speed. and you can also try fencing|||Wing Chun.|||boxing|||You%26#039;d probably like Kung Fu.|||all of them
