Which martial arts have an advantage over others?

My question is kind of a rock-paper-scissors thing. Which martial art has an advantage over another martial art but is weak against a different one?

e.g Kung Fu beats Ju Jitsu but loses to Karate. Could you give me a list of the strengths/wekanesses of the different martial arts when fighting each other? T|||As a very general rough rule of thumb, if a fight stays up a striking art should hold out on a grappling art. If the fight goes to the ground, the grappling art should hold out over the striker.

The situation gets hazy when cross training is involved or even simple training to stop take downs.

Ultimately, no art is better than any other art and only individuals make the difference. In a fight there is always one person who wants it more, who has trained harder or who is just plain luckier.

If you%26#039;re looking to find the magic bullet style of martial art that%26#039;ll take anyone out, there really isn%26#039;t one. Just shop around at the schools in your area and pick the one that has the best instruction. This will go a long way towards ensuring you have the best skills possible to defend yourself. Train hard and your dedication will pay off.

Good Luck.|||It%26#039;s not really that simple. Different martial arts are better at different techniques but it%26#039;s difficult to say which ones would beat others in a fight, even with fighters of the same ability.

Ju jitsu is great for holds and throws whereas kung fu is good for kicks and different striking techniques. Ninjitsu is best for stealth techniques and karate has good defensive techniques.

Kung fu is also very good for speed techniques but karate is better for power.

It%26#039;s really impossible to say what would beat another in a fight, you%26#039;ll find that people who do kung fu will say that kung fu beats everything and people who do ju jitsu will say that is best|||in the child%26#039;s game rock, paper scissors. which is better to use in the game then the other.

the same can be said martial arts, they each have there pro%26#039;s and con%26#039;s

there are hundreds of martial art styles to list the advance and disadvantage of every one is an impossible task.

and another question which is related to yours was just asked to.

some people can fight better in a kung fu system while others can in karate. this doesn%26#039;t not mean theirs anything wrong with the system, its that the movements come more easily to some people in certain systems. and some people no matter what they take will never be able to fight.

it is the system that you feel more comfortable in that is the best for you. and is a personal decisions.

what is more important is the instructor, how hard you train and your training methods, the style is secondary compared to all there.

so there is no perfect style, or technique that is good for all situations. what is perfect for all situations. is training hard and having a good instructor. knowing when to walk away and knowing when to stay and fight. fighting is never first answer to every situation. but when it comes down to it, its import that you end the fight, and survive the situation.|||No one art is gauranteed to beat another or vice versa, It all depends on the circumstances and the fighter, A well excuted Karate kick will knock you out as will a kickboxing kick or a taekwando kick. I do not do any Particular Martial art i do alot of techniques from different ones like ju jitsu for ground work Kickboxing and boxing for stand up i train wrestling for takedowns and takedown defence and i also train taekwondo hip throws for take down and a **** load of fitness|||Buddy, if there were a good answer to such a question, don%26#039;t you think that those of us that have been training for decades would have figured it out already? You would get more out of training than asking such questions.|||it depends. at striking karate , muay thai can beat a jujitsu because theyre more on grappling. but in the first UFC. royce gracie beat all of his opponents of different discipline. he always take down his opponent and with his mastery of jujitsu he submitted them.by using locks. chokes etc.

but in striking muay thai is really good. anderson silva is a muay thai expert. and he is really good. UFC middleweight champion. try watching his fights. very brutal.|||if there was one that was best then there would be no need to have all the others.

then of course you have people like ninja boy who make claims of styles that they only read about and never acually took like some of us. krav maga is no better then any other. and is not considered a martial art it is more geared as a self defense class. an a lot of the techniques are not practical.|||If you are the best in your learned discipline you will beat any others from any other discipliine.

To put it in your words,

Kung Fu Intermediate beats Karate novice but loses to Taekwondo Expert

And styles dont matter, experience does, in fighting and making love :)|||in short

striking art: muay thai

grappling art: judo(which includes derivatives like bjj and sambo)|||Learn something about real martial arts and then come ask a real question. |||whichever martial art is yours has the best advantage over one which is not on your path.|||krav maga beats every thing with one big gulp, seriously|||shark beats mackerel|||it%26#039;s not the system

it%26#039;s the fighter.|||jeet kune do %26gt; all
