What is your take on me in martial arts?

I am in martial arts, I am 17 years old and I weight 320 lbs. Do you know many super duper heavy weights i martial arts? I just want to know your opinion.|||You could very well be good if you want it and are willing to put in the time and effort. However to be faster and more effective, I would recommend losing at least some of that weight. Weight isn%26#039;t everything though. For all I know you could be like 6%26#039;5 and all muscle or 5%26#039; even and all fat. If you are really serious about martial arts start yourself on a healthy diet even if you slowly progress to a better diet it%26#039;s way better than doing nothing. DO NOT starve yourself. That will only hurt you in the end and cause you to gain more weight. Eat a solid 3 meals a day. Snacks between meals are encouraged to keep your metabolism going but make choices such as fruits and veggies over a bag of Doritos or a candy bar. Like I said you dont have to completely revamp your diet all in one day, that could actually make it more prone to failure. Start making smaller changes here and there over time and gradually move into a better diet. You want something you can sustain long term instead of just doing it for a period of time and giving up. Once again I don%26#039;t have enough info to give the best advice but there%26#039;s about all I can give based on what you have said.|||I think studying martial arts is great for anyone. You are clearly a big guy, but that shouldn%26#039;t stop you from training hard and having fun. You don%26#039;t say how tall you are or whether the weight is mostly muscle or fat, but I%26#039;m guessing you are carrying around a lot of non-muscle. I think you would get more out of it if you were able to lose some weight - Most bigger guys don%26#039;t have great cardio. That means that unless they win a fight in 2 minutes, they%26#039;ll get beaten up after round 1. Cardio training will help you lose weight and perform better and longer.

Plus, carrying around the extra weight will slow you down and make you vulnerable to a quicker, lighter opponent. A guy like Bob Sapp is HUGE and muscular - he constantly gets beaten up by smaller guys (100 lbs lighter than him even) because his weight makes him slow. I%26#039;d bet if you were in a real fight with a guy weighing in at 205, he%26#039;d dance around you and you%26#039;d struggle to keep up with him.

Keep training and you could be a beast! Good luck.|||Dude, who cares what other people think of you doing things that you like to do. If you like martial arts and have fun doing them, THEN DO THEM. Dont ask our opinion on what we think. And yes, their are three guys at my TKD school that are pretty heavy set, but it is helping them with their flexibility and weight. Dont be so selfcocious. That is a major problem with the world today, and a good example is all the hollywood stars that throw up till they are skinny because they think that other people think that they should be skinny.

If you keep doing your martial arts, and take it seriouly, you will start to see changes in your physical appearance. If it is something that you enjoy doing, then do it. You dont need our opinions.|||yes 4 of the instructors in my league weigh at least 300 but are also very tall about 6-5 to 6-10....yes 6-10 and they are the best....3 of them are straight muscle but the other one isn%26#039;t....It doesn%26#039;t matter how much you weigh...if you are having fun then keep doing it...it could even get you to lose weight if you did it consistently|||How good you are or will be is directly because of how much work and effort you put into it. You can be as good or as bad as you want, that is something only you control.|||The only super duper heavyweight martial art I know of is sumo.

As long as you enjoy it and have fun that%26#039;s all that counts.|||Here%26#039;s a few:

Butterbean

Hong Man Choi

Semmy Schilt

Siala Silaga|||u would be good at sumo|||you are big fat and heavy guy for your age..you dont need martial art...you suppose to be strong and powerful guy..martial art are for small or medium built person to defend themselves against bigger guys...hahhahahahaha...
