Is there any way a 10-15 year old girl could beat a 20-40 year old man in martial arts?

What if the girl does gymnastics and has trained in martial arts, but the man works out but doesn%26#039;t train in martial arts. Could a girl like this actually iwn in judo or tae kwon do or something like that?|||This of course would depend of the girl, her size, and how good of a martial artist she really is. I could see an average martial artist girl doing enough to stop her attacker for a moment and then fleeing. But yes it is possible.|||In Judo, it%26#039;s definitely possible, because judo (as well as most non-wrestling grappling arts) are designed to help smaller people take down larger, stronger opponents. In TKD, if it%26#039;s a no-holds-barred match, then I think the girl would lack the power, but if it%26#039;s points sparring, then it%26#039;s really speed that matters. It%26#039;s entirely possible for the girl to be better in a fight than the older, stronger man, given the proper training.|||No way.

The girl will weigh 45 - 50 kg and the man will probably benchpress the same weight for 30 reps.

Maybe in a well set up kata with a non resisting uke.|||i dunno maybe, it depends on how strong the girl is or how brave she is, it also depends on how strong the man is...let%26#039;s just say that the girl is a wimp, then she would probably wimp out and then the man would definitely win...if the girl was brave and pretty strong, then maybe......but the man has more of a chance to win...|||Aikedo is using the other persons body strength to defeat them so she has a very very good chance there! hehe|||theres definitley a chance also the man might hold back not wanting to hurt a little girl but then he loses lol!|||definetly!|||Iceman is right it doesnt matter what she new all he has to do is grab her by the throat and a headbutt....... and shes finished

Hey Katana the only way a woman could win was if she had pepper spray or some kind of concealed weapon we teach the REALITY of what could happen WE dont BS and lie and say if you do TKD or Karate you WILL win and lie and take money . We prepare for the worst and make people more aware and show the quickest possible way out . Now Katana if it was a stand off which looks like what the scenario is .... then it is FACT that woman couldnt win we show how to get out of the situation then get out (for women) not stay and fight like most systems do It gives you a false sense of security.....

Let me guess Katana you would tell a little 15 yr old hey.... train with me and you can win any fight sounds like a mcdojo.....

Tell people the facts not what they want to hear !

And im not yelling im just putting in capitals for the important words.|||Absolutely! When it comes to martial arts, the fighter with the best technique, including angle, time, direction, and penetration, will be the victor. It is usually the physically strong who get beaten because they are usually slower and have larger target areas for pressure points.|||I think she could but this is more of a question for Iceman. You are always saying that BJJ is so great, and I agree for ground fighting few styles can compare. So why couldn%26#039;t she defend herself against an untrained male, when people who premote BJJ say that it is more technical then power based, and is designed to be used against larger opponents?

The fact is anyone can be beaten, and the girl may have the advantage of simply being underestimated, and being a gymnast she would have tremendous strength for her size. Reality- couldn%26#039;t she win if she studied your Reality based fighting style? Or isn%26#039;t it the best as you always say?

I find it very unlikely that she could put the man out, but if she was being attacked she could probably do enough to get away and run for help.

just some thoughts.|||It is possible, but I don%26#039;t think that would be he case for all. I had a student that was a young teen and on a couple occasions she had to defend herself from adult men. Those men will not try that again with her. She is now in the military. She was very dedicated to learning. She would come to class early and stay late wanting to learn and correct her mistakes. Whenever she competed the would make her fight boys or women because no one her age would stand a chance. It did matter much to her who she fought she still ended up in first place.

But I think she is the exception to the rule instead of the standard. We have had other female student that were great fighters like her. But the majority of the young women were there because a parent made them attend or because a sibling or friend was in the class. Those students didn%26#039;t learn as fast or benefit as much until their desire to learn changed.

Generally we teach our young students to escape, yell loud to get attention and to run. The object is not to take out a more powerful opponent. The object is to survive and not get harmed. The average adult can and will overpower a child. With training the child can learn how to surprise the attacker and get away. It doesn%26#039;t matter how they escape. It can be by biting, groin kick, scratching his eyes, a stomp on the big toe, but as long as you get away and get some help.|||Yeah anyday although it could also depend of the mans strength.|||YES! Especially if she%26#039;s had some practical training.|||My grand-niece can kick your a s s.

And she is 13!|||Yes, I should think so. My cousin is 13 and she can defend herself against almost anyone. It just depends on how good they are at it and how far along they are in the training. She%26#039;s been doing it since she was about 5 years old, so plenty of training.|||Honestly, if you%26#039;re talking about a male who is in top physical shape and a young child then it doesn%26#039;t matter what the child know. Most instructors do not teach children what I like to call %26quot;The Real Deal%26quot; martial arts, because it becomes a liability to the instructor if the child uses pressure points, nerve strikes, and other real techniques on other children. Judo will show you take downs, but I have not run into an instructor yet that actually taught children combat judo, if there%26#039;s a such thing.

A child has not yet developed the physical strength to take on an adult in athletic shape, but a child can bite, scratch and poke to distract and get to safety. When I teach my young warriors, I teach them environmental awareness, where to walk if they happen to have to travel alone, if someone grabs they are to bite until they can feel their teeth meet each other, take their nails and if they can reach the eyes don%26#039;t just poke but rake it and hopefully the nails are dirty and also if they are by themselves walk with their keys or pen/pencil in hand to stab (preferrably the eyes as well). I will never teach a child to fight an adult on the streets.|||NO ITS NOT POSSIBLE! are you kidding me a 10-15 year old girl? vs a an adult male in his prime years? I dont care if she was Chuck Norris%26#039;s daughter , there is just to big of a strength disadvantage!
