What is the best martial arts for me?

I am an average build 11 year old, 4 foot 8 and i need a form of self defence that will work on someone twice as strong as me. Can anyone suggest a quick, affective, painful martial arts for me?|||karate.coz karate teach u how to maximize ur power.and by the rite technique,u really can take down opponent that stronger than u.hehe|||A combination of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muy Thai|||The answer to do research on youtube was a good one. I recommend one that is very practical in a street fight. There are three areas where fights occur. Standing/striking, Throwing, and Grappling. My favorite MA, Enshin, addresses the Striking and Throwing with it%26#039;s Kyokushin/Judo combination. You might want to look at Gracie Jiu Jitsu for the Grappling. Best to start young and have that confidence all your life!|||Kajukenbo.|||savate is the easiest to learn, and extremely effective.

i saw a video of a french savate fighter with BOTH arms broken, rendered useless, and STILL he defeated his asian opponent.|||I have been doing kenpo for about six years it is good for learning defense against someone bigger then you. I also do a little jui jistu that is a very physical form to learn but fun at the same time. And trust me martail arts does not need to be pianful as long as you are learning to defend yourself. Also school comes first no and no alcohol. If I could suggest a karate school see if there are any Amerikicks near you. Check out this website www.martialarts4u.com|||Best defensive art - STAY IN SCHOOL.

Second to that, my personal choice is TKD.|||Read the rules conduct for yahoo answers. You are supposed to be 13 or older to ask/answer questions.

I also second TKD. It is a good place to start.

Stay in school and say NO to drugs.|||brazilian jiujitsu. bjj was modified from japanese ju jitsu specifically for people who are smaller. it focuses on leverage and technique, not power.|||kung fu

shaolin|||Any traditional martial art will be good for you on many different levels. Don%26#039;t worry so much about the discipline. Find a school that%26#039;s easy to get to, find an instructor you like and feel comfortable with, make sure you feel comfortable at the school and like the other students, then ask your parents if you can join and train.

Those things are much more important at your age than the discipline choice, or it%26#039;s effectiveness.

Good luck!

Check out videos at youtube and yahoo videos, then decide what you like and what is available in your area.|||Whatever your reasons, if your looking for a way to defeat someone twice as strong as you, join the army dude, Martial arts originated from a need to defend and defeat in battle, and the most physically revevant would be an army, with all it%26#039;s technology, tactics, and forces.

Quick= running, It%26#039;ll save sorry arses more than once.

Affective=brains, basically don%26#039;t get into fights or have a bunch of guys with you.

painful= get a stick, they cane.

Martial Arts=Peace. But it also studies it%26#039;s opposite.

Yeah, if you want to study martial arts, Remember the names made up of two parts: Martial and ArTS.

You know, Boxing is always a good, solid thing to practice, Muay thai, or kickboxing is always good if you can find it.

But if you can find a gym or any dojo, training hall, fighting club whatever, go for it!|||The best self defense martial art is Judo......i suggest trying it....very effective too......
